Breaking the J.O.B. addiction - before it costs you your life...

The JOB (just over broke) addiction - yes, having to "make a living" in this world costs most people their lives...

A suit is to be buried in, a tie is just a noose - kick your JOB addiction.

But does it have to mean that this is inevitable?

Look, any addiction can be kicked - it's just a matter of focus and determination, plus changing your environment while you change your mind. Kicking an addiction doesn't even have to be arduous...

Another Online Marketing Addiction to Avoid - SEO

How to Avoid the Incredible Addiction to SEO in Online Marketing

Use SEO as only a part of your online marketing planYou may have run into this addiction in promoting your own home business.

The statement runs around that "if you aren't on top of the search engine standings, you don't exist."

Unfortunately, that is more false than true.

This isn't to say that SEO isn't needed - it very much is - but your business doesn't have to depend on using SEO for the entirety of its online marketing.

That is just another form of addiction: giving complete control over one aspect of your business to a single source, such that your progress is measured only by a single metric. Much like an addict needing their next "fix", your marketing will go to all ends to maintain and expand your SEO results - even going to find places where you are ranking extremely well, but will never result in sales.

According to Forrester Research (as reviewed on myHermes), 30 percent of purchases start with an email from a retailer. 48 percent say that their buying process probably starts with reviews from a social platform like Facebook. The report said that just 39 percent of web transactions began from clicking on organic or paid search results.

The key point is that search engine searches provide new prospects. Social platforms will provide relevance to their possible conversion to a buyer, as does any sales pages on your site - which is on-page content quality. Your relationships with customers will retain them as clients. 3/4's of this sequence doesn't require SEO.

Here's some other related links of interest down this line:

http://csi.mckinsey.com/Knowledge_by_region/Global/search

The summary is that while Google continues to dominate the mass of search engine queries, it's not going to give you anything but a portion of the customers you can have if you diversify your approach.

One key in all this is that the Internet looks to be simply amplifying natural and traditional buying patterns people have developed over the centuries. Yes, people respond to ads. Yes, people now utilize search to wade through the tons of data available.

But when YouTube is getting more search traffic than Google proper, and Amazon has a greater buying reach on mobile and the web, then you would be in error to solely and only work on making your site rank well on Google in order to get new customers.

Frankly, what this says is that you should take that site content and do several things:

1) Yes, get it optimized on-site so Google and the other search engines can categorize it easily. But also,

2) Convert it to several videos and put long keyword-rich descriptions and links on YouTube.

3) Convert it to an ebook and sell it via Lulu.com through Amazon ( as well as through Smashwords, among others).

4) Compile your email list and maintain your relationships through it.

5) Create regular new content and cross-publish everything through the above.

There's a great short blog post about someone getting their book to the top ten list on Amazon via Lulu. (http://www.lulu.com/blog/2012/06/lulu-books-amazon-best-sellers/) You'll note that they promoted it to their list, which resulted in a flood of orders - catapulting their book onto the top-10 list where it stayed. And then it was easier to find (and buy) on Amazon. So these elements tend start a "stacking effect" as they interact with the others.

Which means you link to your Amazon author and book sales page from your site, and your ebook has hot-links to your site and your author page, and your emails have hot-links to a "resource" page which has these links, and so on.

This is the point here - that these all work together. Note that you can also give away that ebook you write to your list as an opt-in - or make a shorter version which is a come-on to buy the Amazon version (even give a discount coupon for those who do.)

The key point is that there is a much wider world out there than just SEO.

And if you do have a company who is doing your SEO, make sure they are also in syncopation with your overall Marketing planning.

You'll avoid addiction, as you understand how SEO is just a small (and getting smaller) part of your overall promotion-conversion-relationship marketing plan.

Why Conversation Domination Died A Slow Death - Internet Marketing Leverage Tips

Follow Millionaire Mentors to learn their leverage secrets to Internet Marketing WealthA key problem that people like Howie Schwartz (and Jack Humphrey) have is that they miss the actual point the Internet was built on: Valuable Information.

In both of their instances, they are jumping from one thing to the next, all built around gaming the search engines.

There are 3 problems with this:

1) Search Engines, like the Internet, are constantly evolving.

2) They plug holes which the "gray hats" are finding as soon as they become apparent.

3) People use the search engines less and less as they find the niches and trusted authorities they want to listen to regularly.

How to Make Network Marketing Quit Sucking at Earning Money

Why Does Network Marketing Suck at Making Real Money?

You shouldn't have to pay to succeed at Network MarketingBecause it’s set up to be just another J-O-B.

You know that phrase – it means “just over broke.”

But the promise of MLM is that it will give you extra money from part time work. And that’s true -if you know what you are doing.

Most people (and their uplines) don’t really know these two things well:

1. How to set up and run a business.
2. How to market anything.

So your primary opportunity is set up with that same problem – they have a bunch of people who are excited about making money getting going, but actually clueless about what they need to do to get started.

This means MLM’s have to “dumb down” the instructions they get. And these usually become “make a list of 100 people and invite them to your opportunity.”  Another one is “become a walking example of how great [insert opportunity name] products – and tell everyone within 3 feet about them.”

Now if you are really successful at this, by the time you’ve talked to everyone on that list and the people who you usually get within 3 feet of – you’ll then start helping your own downline with their people. And so on, down the line. That is if these actually work for you and your downline sponsors.

But unfortunately, the chaser-chasing rule applies here. Most people don’t want to get into an opportunity – so the harder you chase, the more they run away.

A good percentage of closes from sales pitches is 2-3%. For professionally trained sales people. So out of those 100 people, a pro will get maybe 3 to sign up. And the rest, if you are lucky, might become customers.

However, most people don’t want to alienate their family and friends, so the whole cycle is dead-ended.

The second breakdown also occurs at that 97 percentile mark: Out of every 100 people who sign up, only about 35 of those will actually become successful at it – meaning they break-even most months. This is 2 in 1,000 who make it.

So that’s 1,000 people you will have to talk to about your opportunity in order to build a downline of 30, and only 2 of those will be making any decent money.

You then see why the industry average is about 70-80% turnover in the first year.

Now, the persistent ones will keep going – maybe not with that particular MLM opportunity. They’ll keep studying and learning and getting mentored until they do figure out these 2 things:

  1. - They’ll know how to run an MLM opportunity as a business
  2. - They’ll have learned how to effectively market any product or service.

And that is the point where they actually start making a huge success of this.

The statistics of this are 1 in 10,000.

Our smart move, if we are considering how to turn a part time working J-O-B into a full-time fortune-making enterprise would be simply to learn those 2 things above.

This is why I recommend people get started with MLM Rockstars with their free training line-up. You will get started with Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring and learn all about the Funded Proposal. This is a way you can learn to market to people who are already looking for what you have to offer. And as you continue with this program, you’ll also be learning the basics of starting and running a business.

Then you can turn your network marketing opportunity into a real income production machine (instead of just another J-O-B.)

Financial Freedom from Network Marketing? Maybe...

How to Find Real Financial Freedom in Network Marketing

Real Financial Freedom from Network Marketing is in building your list. The lure and promise of Network Marketing has been that you can free yourself of financial shackles by converting your part-time work into extra income. Eventually, you can grow that extra income such that it replaces your J-O-B and allows you to do whatever you want - since your home business has grown such that you have continuing passive income rolling in.

Unless you know these 2 things, that freedom is just another pipe dream:

1) How to set up network marketing as a real business.
2) How to market on your own, independent of your primary opportunity.

And yes, you've probably heard something like this before - the reason most poeple fail in MLM is that they don't know now to market and they don't know how to run a business.

But if you compare these, you'll see a subtle difference.

Anthony Trister - Coffeeshop Millionaire Officially a Scam

photo credit: jackal1Anthony Trister's Coffeeshop Millionaire has emptied their last cup.

Only dust and cobwebs hanging out there now. And a cheesy info-mercial about how to buy and flip websites. (Like a blinking neon light above the entrance to a nearly shuttered old motel in the warehouse district outskirts.)

Seriously. Now it really isn't worth the money to get a membership. Because almost all of the videos which used to be there don't work any more.

And I'm sorry to say that my predictions were right.

Just checked in after a year of wandering around and making honest money online. And found the place is now a shell of it's former self.

There's no "VIP" section anymore. Only tells you "not authorized" when you sign up.

Meaning that Anthony Trister and all of his cronies have all packed it up and taken their fast thousands - and left. Only leaving some hot-links which may or may not work. I'm surprised the sight is even up - but as I linked above, it's  only the support which is still working, approving refunds.

What have I found that did work?

Mike Dillard and his Magnetic Sponsoring.

While this is aligned toward network marketing, it will actually give you some good basics on starting a business with a "funded proposal".

And Dillard's company has been around since 2005 or so (it's not a fly-by-night like Trister and his t-shirt ensemble.) That is the real measure of whether a company is a scam or not. Consider the top ten MLM companies out there - the acid test is if they've been around 10 years or more. These companies open and close like loose shutters in the wind.

(As did Anthony Trister. He's again disappeared into the backwaters he came from. Try looking him up on the web and you'll only find a very skimpy Facebook page. Lives in San Diego. Takes exotic vacations. Nice flash in the pan. The question is - what's he done for anyone lately...)

Your going to have to check out Mike Dillard for yourself. Seems to be the real deal. Plenty of people vouch for him. And you can start for free with his 7-video bootcamp...

PS. What Mike is working on recently is really amazing. Check out his recent webinar by clicking here.
